Although I've come to enjoy BBTM a lot more lately, I'd say Starboy is a lot better too.

Anyone who thinks it's better than Trilogy needs a nice temp. ban to rethink their life.

I really liked BBTM but I was thinking of this the other day and I think so. BBTM does have The Hills which is one of my faves from The Weeknd but overall I agree it's better. If I had to rank them:

    Trilogy (EoS, HoB, Thursday)
    Kiss Land/Starboy
    BBTM

I prefer Starboy, but I wish the songs on Starboy were as developed as on BBTM. Almost every track on Starboy is only three minutes and follow the same f---ing verse-hook-verse-bridge-hook format and never experiment outside of that format. At the very least, most of BBTM did not follow the same exact structure and every song felt like it was brought to its full potential. Starboy is somehow even safer and poppier than BBTM.

is it really fair to group all 3 mixtapes together though? I feel like sonically they're all quite different, it's just the tone that keeps them all together

yes. and I'm not knocking BBTM at all. both are great projects but I think Starboy will stay above BBTM as time goes on. might be wrong but that's how I'm feeling right now

    Fair point.

I just did it because it was packaged commercially as one project.

Hani got more issues than Time magazine

The one thing they both lack is that they aren't concept albums, (albums which flow from the first to the last track, narrating a storyline, i.e. Beatles' Sgt. Pepper, Pink Floyd's DSOTM, or Abel's Kiss Land)

However, I loved BBTM, every now and then I still play it. It has gems, Starboy has gems too, but Starboy has more gems in quantity, thus said, it beats BBTM.
