    Guys, rewatch The Wire. This is an institutional issue. Individuals compose institutions. It's been decades/centuries of brutality toward black Americans. Individuals may be good of heart, but they're often unwittingly contributing to a system that negatively treats entire sects of society.

    So, institutional bias is manifested through years of bias and discrimination. It also manifests in policies that result in the death of innocent black people. After awhile, individuals react with their own version of hostility and bloodshed. (also why we see looting/race riots occurring throughout the 20th century)

    I mostly ignored these threads and didn't respond to them because there's no reason to. If he's trolling, you lose by validating this crackpot theory at all, if he's not, then he's crazy enough that you're not gonna convince him otherwise. Anyone who is convinced that arguing the exact number of Jews killed in WWII is a worthwhile cause (even if we're to entertain the argument that the lower number might be true 1.2 million or whatever is still f---ing insane and genocide) has a strange agenda/poor intentions.

    Anyway I never banned him because he kept it to 1-2 threads so it was easy to ignore and we allow people to write racist s--- like this all the time. If it was up to me I'd just permaban these people right away because they do nothing positive for the forum environment.

    In case anyone thought this s--- was over:

    A 32-year-old man name Philando Castile was just killed in Falcon Heights, which is basically an area on the east side of Minneapolis (my hometown). He was driving with his girlfriend in the passenger seat and his girlfriend's daughter in the back when he was pulled over for having a broken taillight.

    By the time his girlfriend started live streaming (through that FB function, not sure how it works but it's already got like 1.5 mil plays), Castile was bleeding out. The girlfriend was calm and measured and explained what happened: the officer asked Castile for his license and registration; Castile informed the officer that he is licensed to carry a firearm and had a pistol on his waistline; when he reached for his wallet and the gun became visible, the officer shot him three to six times in the arm and chest. It's reported that he was declared dead at the hospital.

    During the live stream, Castile's girlfriend explains what I just did in greater detail and in a slow, calm, but clear and deliberate voice. The officer who fired the shots does not dispute any of the account; instead he's still waving his gun in the face of the dying man, shrieking hysterically. (Later in the stream, when the girlfriend is being cuffed and arrested for being in the passenger seat when her boyfriend was murdered, the officer can be heard screaming "f---ing n----.")

    The video captures what is more than likely Castile's death, plus her arrest by at least three police officers (none moves to the car to attempt basic first aid) and the voice of her daughter, who tries to comfort her. It's readily available online. If you still think the police are simply using force when necessary and aren't some jumpy trigger-happy sacks of s--- in way over their heads, watch it.
