Reflection as 2022 approaches-- rather than doing a resolution thread, tell what your favorite memory of 2021 was.

    Mine:
    On-forum = when Grimace left
Off-forum = the vaccine allowed me to travel to see family again

    @LifeSXN

Since quarantine started, the vast majority of us have been spending a lot more time inside. Being cooped up can really affect your mental (and physical) health, so even if you're someone like me who doesn't like accumulating a lot of unnecessary appliances and stuff, I think it's been well worth it to invest in little things that up your quality of life (or are simply super convenient).

Are there any purchases you've made in the past year (or just in general) that you feel fit that bill?

I've been extremely happy with all these purchases:

    1. Electric Kettle. If you're a coffee or tea drinker this is a must-have. It's much quicker than the stove and you don't have to watch it or listen for a whistle since it'll just get up to the temp and stay there—plus it's always the exact temp you want it so you don't end up burning your brew.

    2. Straw-top water bottle. The most popular brand of these is Hydroflask but I bought one by SimpleModern for half the price. I got the 40 oz. version with the goal of drinking three of them a day (so around 1 gallon / 3.5 liters) but I've easily been drinking 4-5 of them for closer to 1.5 gal / 5.5 liters. The straw top really does make a difference.

    3. Weighted blanket. I toss and turn a lot at night and I've found this helps me sleep more restfully. It's also generally just super comfy to use when you're relaxing and watching a movie or something.

And I was dumb enough not to keep it.

So I ordered a new 55" TV on Amazon and when the package arrived the delivery guy told me he's going to get the second TV in the truck. So I ask him, the second TV?

So he shows me a TV in his truck. It's a 65" Samsung to my name and address which I never ordered. It was an Amazon fuckup.

After a couple of minutes of thinking I told the delivery guy he could return it. I just didn't want to have to go through the hassle of returning it if Amazon found out or something. But after doing research online I was in my legal right to keep it and there's nothing Amazon could have done about it.

I just called Amazon to tell them what happened in the hopes they would give me a gift card or some s--- for my honesty but nothing. Not even a thank you. So i just lost a brand new samsung 65" which I could have easily sold for $1000.

Lesson of the day, if you have a chance to steal from a multi-billion dollar company. Do it. Those ungrateful b------s don't reward honesty.

I listened to Jay's 4:44 and decided that I was tired of this oppressive rent s--- and it was time to invest in real estate.

It's a new build expected to be done ~February (but with COVID and the hurricanes, who knows) so if anybody has any advice on those it'd be appreciated

Some parts of the world are very close to 2018 and it doesn't take that long here either.

From the lookin back on 2017 thread it became obvious that the reactions were (obviously) mixed.

Now its time to look forward. To everyone here, I hope you have a happy and healthy 2018! Take care of your loved ones and don't waste too much time worrying about dumb s--- :)

If you're 18+ and from the states, then go out and vote on Tuesday.

We hear it every 4 years, and often shrug it off, but this election really really really f---ing matters this time, considering the candidates.

    Your vote matters.
Not voting is really f---ing dumb.

If you're still undecided, and you haven't already, then educate yourself quickly. Don't believe every headline you've seen, or every accusation made by either side. Fact check. Don't blindly follow.

Will use this thread to discuss the results in realtime (polls open in ~24 hours).

I am by no means an expert in the market but I do like making some good trades and finding gorgeous penny stocks :emoji_wink:

I actually pretty much only trade penny stocks cause I don't got koolo money and I can pick up more shares for cheap that have infinite potential

for ANYONE getting started, just go to the appstore and install Robinhood and follow the directions to set up your account and link your bank.

here's some companies on my watchlist.

GEVO (just picked this up this morning): they use renewable alcohol jet fuel. with their fuel, it helps planes lower their greenhouse gas emissions. they were up as much as 100% earlier today after Alaska Airlines announced they're gonna begin to use their fuel starting today.

I'm thinking this'll be a nice long term stock as other airlines start to pick up on using cleaner methods for fuel. interested to see where it'll be by the end of the month.

VNR: they been sleeping for a few months now and pretty much falling for the past year or two since oil been straight falling but since oil is turning around, there's really nowhere to go from here but up.

I've honestly wanted to sell this though cause I'm a little tired of waiting but I haven't broken even yet smh. picked this up around $1.80. if nothing happens within the next 3-4 weeks though I'll probably pull out regardless.

They do however have a 25% dividend which means for every share you own, they pay out 25% of what the stock is worth. so if it were at $1, you'd get 25 cents for every share you own 4 times a year.

AMD: I'm sure everyone knows what AMD is but if not, they make computer processors. their direct competition is Intel.

they got a nice 6 month chart going but a few different sources (The street rating, Jim Cramer) talking bout selling so Ima see where this goes these next few weeks. can't trust everything you hear feel me.

More stocks to watch: CLRB, CJES, BSPM

I been using this app lately that I highly, highly recommend called StockTwits. basically it connects to your Twitter and all the stocks you add to your watchlist have conversation from thousands of other people watching. great way to learn about the market and the specific stocks you're looking into.

I've had a lot of problems growing up, going through school, and now as an adult out on my own, and I've been in and out of doctors for this kind of thing in the past, with multiple diagnoses over the years and with s--- just gradually getting worse as time goes on, it's been hella frustrating for me.

So well, after losing a job I just got to my anxiety yesterday, I went and got re-evaluated this morning and got confirmation on somethings that I was pretty sure I already knew or had been diagnosed with before. I have Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and the misdiagnoses before that for ADD, Bi-Polar and Tourrettes come from those and also: me now being put on the Autism Spectrum.

It explains a lot to me, and hopefully will help me understand what's been wrong and how to go about coping with all the problems it brings. I'm seeing a counselor tomorrow morning and have been deferred to another psychiatrist for possible medication (though most likely only for my Anxiety, as meds for depression don't fare well with me, and ASD isn't treatable).
