The album was great, a few songs like survival, monster and bezerker for example didn't do to well for i guess most people. and if you promote a album with s-----y singles you get less respect then the album recovery had.
the mmlp 2 was much better through, in my opinion.

Just because it's pre hiatus Eminem doesn't mean s---. Stan as a whole is a completely better song but I prefer the last verse of bad guy over it. I'd rather hear some real s--- instead of some dude obsessing over another guy.

But that's just Eminem's signature post-hiatus. He can't help but throw in an awful line to ruin a great verse/song.

Stan is a classic though, might be his best overall song, or at least top 10. Bad Guy's last verse is a highlight, but again, it doesn't save the song's off beat flow. Plus, to open a great verse with such an AWFUL line just has always bothered me.

you know, he really avoiding using his technical flow on a song like that and for good reason. The flow was honestly the least important part of the song.

    What?

Flow is important to any song. His flow was s--- in Bad Guy.

I was an advocate for Bad Guy because, for once since his return, Eminem took a big risk in creating a conceptual song. It was a solid attempt at creating a sequel to a hip hop classic. However, he executed it poorly, much like Headlights, much like everything on MMLP2. It didn't come off naturally.

The last verse of Bad Guy is a highlight, but again, it didn't save the overall song, and it didn't help that he started it off talking about an awful pun about his toilet being clogged.

You can like Bad Guy, but it's nowhere near Stan.

Stan has a deep story and a twist... cool bro I haven't listened to it over 5 times. Bad Guys beat alone has made me listen to it like 20 times

What the actual f--- are you talking about?:hmmmmm: His very first f---ing project post hiatus was relapse, which was a concept album . He already took that risk, and he won a bunch of awards for the creativity (including a grammy).
:empalm: Again, what the f--- are you on about? Do you think autotune is natural? , and then what the f--- does any of that have to do with execution. The fact that you don't like the style is nothing to do with the quality of execution.
:empalm: first off, the pun made sense, He's 'Talking s---' and he's 'backing it up'
I know this might be a little over your head, but he also create's an organic imagery of something building up , which ties to the symbolism of his own career slowly driving him into the ground. Has alot more depth than thugger's airhead line anyway.
Second if you think the verse started off with that pun, then you need to improve your listening skills. It was a one off punchline that served its purpose , and was a good 25 seconds into the verse. So if that's the first thing you picked up, it says something.

Thug is s--- and so do his fans are not well exposed to understand lyrical masterpieces. They just understand the n word and em never used and probably will never use.

If you're an Em fan MMLP2 had lots to enjoy. But if you're not, as an album it didn't quite work. Too many weak spots and too disparate. I'd say both Recovery and Relapse worked better as albums, even if some of the writing is better on MMLP2.

If the album had been as below..

Intro: Bad Guy (Last verse only)
    Groundhog Day
    Brainless
    So Much Better
    Rhyme Or Reason
    Baby
    Monster (good track, don't hate)
    Don't Front
    Rap God
    Legacy
    Evil Twin

I think that's consistent in terms of sound and quality and would genuinely have been a worth successor to part 1.
