May 28, 2026 at 3:53 AM For some reason TDOSS I felt the same way about that bro too. Sounds kind of like a mixtape. But I do appreciate it.
May 28, 2026 at 3:58 AM I don't think we are gonna ever get that early Shady Records formula ever again. I think those days are over. We just get what we get now. Whatever Em puts out I guess we just have to appreciate it for what it is. Things aren't the same anymore. He went into a different direction after Relapse and now s--- is just strange and weird. We never know what we are gonna get. I do know tho every album he does put out there are some very good songs on every album since Relapse. Some gems on each album like Lucifer
May 28, 2026 at 3:59 AM Basically now when Em releases a new album we are more hyped for a few gems out of the album than we are the album as a whole. We know on the album ahead of time there's gonna be a few quality tracks and some cringe ones
May 28, 2026 at 5:36 AM Did anyone see the Rick Rubin interview a few days ago where he talks about the difference between recording with Jay Z and Eminem? He said where as Jay is only there when he needs to be, he’ll listen to a beat for 30 mins that he lies, go in and do his thing over it then leave. Whereas Eminem is invovled from start to beginning, will do take after take after take, try different delivery’s and tones, and keep hold of songs for ages until he’s happy. It’s sad to hear that Eminem is like this, almost what you would call a “perfectionist”, yet his music still comes out sounding like absolute trash.
May 28, 2026 at 9:40 AM Was doing some more digging on Eminems sound and studio equipment and stuff and found this from 2024 during DoSS rollout: So for years, in ems studio they’ve had a terrible room with all sorts of their audio gear going bad and becoming outdated. No wonder his mixes have sounded s-----y for so long, especially during MMLP and Revival. It seems like they only figured all this out pretty much after DoSS had been completed and mixed. So if there is eventually another album, it should sound a lot better sonically at least than the last few he’s been putting out.
May 28, 2026 at 10:08 AM This is typical of almost any music act that’s been around as long as Eminem. You will only disappoint yourself expecting that high of standard of music 27 years into their career.
May 28, 2026 at 10:40 AM You can try to read my lyrics off of this paper before I lay em. #Shady #Section80
May 28, 2026 at 12:10 PM best one better sound great, cheap MFer. Ever since he got rid off his house studio things went downhill.
May 28, 2026 at 12:32 PM Nah. Ever since he stopped working at 54 Sound and bought Effigy it started to go downhill.
May 28, 2026 at 12:43 PM I personally think Eminem should try a new mic for once in his life. Put the C800g to one side and maybe try a Neumann U87 or something like that to bring out the higher frequencies in his voice since his old man voice is quite deep and muddy. Also needs to stop compressing and saturating so much on the way in. I think Eminem could actually benefit a lot from having a whole new mixing engineer all together. Mike Strange has ran his course. I don’t think Mike Strange has ever gotten Ems vocals as clean as they should be, going all the way back to Recovery. They were crisp on Relapse with Dre though. I’d be interested to see someone like 40 (Noah Shebib) track and mix a vocal session for Eminem. It’s pretty clear there’s nobody around him and hasn’t been for a long time to tell him, maybe tone it down, maybe use this delivery or this tone. Eminem seems to have just been going with his own gut and he evidently has a pretty terrible musical ear (sonically).
