May 28, 2026 at 3:24 PM @Ripper Roo imma wait to make a thread till there's more s--- to post about the album but that new Quadeca single is pretty good
May 28, 2026 at 3:27 PM h--- yeah, I listened to it last night. Always interested to see what new creative direction he’s going in. His voice is sounding better and better
May 28, 2026 at 3:39 PM I do wonder if this is going in a slightly more R&B direction which I'd be down for, sounds a little less maximalist. Excited to see where the concept goes
May 28, 2026 at 9:46 PM I forgot Toronto has a baseball team, sounds fun. I’m also a bit jealous of your traveling. I’m planning to visit Niagara Falls next month and might stop in Toronto as well.
May 28, 2026 at 10:36 PM s--- sound good, the trumpets on the second leg are a great touch. I didn’t need the nips out like that but hey music video is good too. He posted an IG story a couple days ago saying he thinks haunt you is way better than vanisher and I can’t agree more. Not to hate on Vanisher, just glad to know he’s in touch with fax and maybe is a sign I’ll end up liking this new project a little more than the last.
May 28, 2026 at 11:13 PM I still like Vanisher a decent bit but Haunt You is a deeply important album to me and i play it infinitely more, one of my favorites of all time tbh. Scrapyard has some of my favorite songs from him as well.
May 29, 2026 at 1:37 AM @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau Local H - Pack Up The Cats I love alt rock and post grunge s--- on a song by song basis but never checked many full LP's but,i don't know if I've ever heard of Local H. i checked their top streamed songs and nothing seemed familiar from the titles. I decided not to check on what they sounded like so I can go in completely blind! All-Right is a pretty good opener! Really enjoy the riff here. Hook is a little repetitive to me but it does it job at being catchy, dig the singers voice as well. "Cha!" Said The Kitty is f---ing awesome, great continuation of the sounds of the opening track while improving on it in every way to me. Instrumental is bonkers. Lyrics are pretty fun in that grunge opaque way. Lucky is a great interlude, sounds like a weird (complimentary) mix of Weezer and Radiohead here. Hit The Skids was little iffy to me at first but once it goes into full swing with the riff its really enjoyable. Vocal performance here is great. Chorus and outro are great. I'm a sucker for a good transition so going from that into 500,000 Scovilles was really fun. Another short but great track, the band almost channels a more traditional rock thing for a second here with the vocals. Great song Transitioning again into What Can I Tell You? is actually generational s---. This is them at their most Nirvana but it fits incredible well. Warming up to this album a lot. Really dig the atmosphere here. Drum performance in the instrumental break is f---ing great. Love this one. Fine And Good is another great song. Love the melody and vocal performance of his, like the lyrics on this one especially. One of my favorites so far tbh! Lead Pipe Cinch continues great interludes, love the acoustic approach, works extremely well. Great lyrically for how short it is. My thoughts on tracks are starting to get repetitive, Cool Magnet is f---ing great. Super catchy, band kills it, great performances all around. She Hates My Job is one of my favorites lyrically. Guitar work is great here. I like that they inject little bits of humor here and there. This then leads to Stoney which is purely instrumental and while it might be weird i think its one of my favorite tracks on the album? Everything about it is such a great vibe setter, simultaneously a little uneasy and calming. Laminate Man really grew on me, I really like the chorus. The mixing was a little crazy in the beginning but once i realized it was intentional i f----- with it. Kinda wish it transitioned a little more smoothly into the next song. All The Kids Are Right is really good, the concept is super fun. Very self deprecating in a fun way. Can see this getting stuck in my head a lot! Deep Cut is a good continuations of the ideas of the last track, the lead singers scream on here is so good. Very punk-y. Good s---. Really like Lucky Time, more laid back and really good lyrics on this one. I've liked the writing more and more as the record has gone on just cause its a bit clearer. But i may just need more listens for the earlier songs. Both approaches have merit though! Great closer! Overall had a really really good time with this, will be going back to it for sure. Didn't know how I was going to like this judging from the first song but really started to love it the more it goes on, great pick @Wreckless! Happy to have a new band for me to dive into! Favorite Songs: "Cha!" Said The Kitty, What Can I Tell You?, Fine And Good, Cool Magnet, Stoney, Deep Cut, Lucky Time RATING 9/10
May 29, 2026 at 1:49 AM Local H - Pack Up The Cats RIPPER ROO’S RATING: 7/10 im not gonna lie, this kinda music is just not my thing, but I can recognize that most of this is good music. Those first 2 tracks are bad though and had me worried I was in for a horrible experience. Thankfully the album picked up after that. Idk what they were thinking making those songs the first 2 tracks. I will say this album has a sensible flow to it. It balances out between the more upbeat tracks and slower tracks. Same goes for longer tracks and shorter tracks. I will say at times I found myself preferring the slower, shorter tracks though. Also the transitions between tracks are sick. There’s some nice stuff here though. Fine and Good was well… fine and good. It’s definitely one of the best tracks here and sticks out to me most. Deep Cut as well. I’m probably not gonna come back to this but hey that’s alright. You can’t resonate with everything. @AOTWClub

May 29, 2026 at 6:21 AM I wasnt a bit Traveller until like 2022, friends basically dragged me to Italy, kept saying I didnt wanna go then it made me a travel crackhead. Blue Jays games are pretty fun, the crowds are wild right now cause of them making the world series last year. If you go to Toronto should do Canada's Wonderland if youre into amusement parks. I havent been in awhile but the new coaster there looks pretty sick
