Jun 5, 2026 at 5:15 AM Really liking most of the tape on first listen and I am not team 'pride' at all
Jun 5, 2026 at 12:41 PM @AOTWClub The album starts off strong with Jessie Ware, an artist I discovered recently thanks in large part to this thread. It's one of the better songs off the album, though I still prefer her first record. ‘’Twist the Knife’’ caught me off guard and is surprisingly good. The only Rebecca Black song I knew before this was ‘’Friday.’’ I actually went back and listened to it after hearing this track, and it's hilarious. I can see why it became meme. That said, ‘’Twist the Knife’’ is very different. I dig this song. ‘’Secrets’’ is a song I enjoyed very much. It's smooth. 2:30 I like how the song fades and comes back. Small production details like that can really elevate a track. ‘’Sexy villain’’ is a laid back and enjoyable song. "Idk Idk" and "Do Ya?" are where the tape starts to dip in quality a bit for me. I wasn't really feeling either of those. ''Evil'' is solid. I always enjoy an uptempo track. I know it's a recurring theme for me when it comes to pop music, but I just don't care for slow, piano driven ballads. The beat is important to me, and this one delivers. "Wichita Blues" and ''Laced Up'' aren't my favorite, but are decent entries overall. Best of Ya, I dig it. It has a nice, familiar feel to it. Tiffany Day's "Break Up" is dope. Again, a hard hitting beat goes a long way with me. This one is an absolute b-----r. Prima Donna, another solid track The overall mixtape vibe shifts slightly starting at track 13 through to the end and I dig the transition. ''Days of thunder'' has a strong 80s synth vibe. "I Like the Way You Kiss Me" is a solid song. "Empathy" has some cool production elements. Even though the main loop is a bit repetitive, it's perfect headphone music when you're busy doing other s---, it seamlessly melts into the background and just enhances everything. "Dancing While the World Burns": Ends the tape nicely. Overall, I enjoyed my time with this tape and will be keeping a good chunk of these songs in rotation. 8.5

Jun 6, 2026 at 10:16 AM g.d. When I suggested this idea it was 25+ degrees and sunny. I was outside everyday and ready to listen to these summer tapes in the sun imagining I was on a beach. Since the day @jankland posted his tape it has been like 18 degrees and rainy here lmfaoo So aside from the beach I also have to imagine nice weather smh
Jun 6, 2026 at 10:37 AM I prefer like 15-23, in ontario its way too hot all summer. Its always like 25 feels like 40 lol Smoggy nasty weather, although these Americans wont get our Celsius talk
Jun 6, 2026 at 11:28 AM Jankland - Lil Jank X Presents: dancing while the world burns Anddd we're back to the tapes! And a jank one at that, which always brings a lot of variety, which is nice. Now, for the record, I am not gay But I did see Call Me By Your Name a few weeks ago, and I thought it was pretty good, so I was pretty excited to see what this would play out like. I've been meaning to check out a Jessie Ware since her 2020 album was Fantano's AOTY pick, and I feel like "That! Feels Good" is a pretty good intro for her work and the tape as a whole. The last Rebecca Black song I'd heard was the 2020 hyperpop remix of "Friday" so "Twist the Knife" was unexpected, but still pretty nice. Despite absolutely loving Imaginal Disk, I've never heard a single MB song outside of it, but I really loved "Secrets (Your Fire)", and "Sexy Villain" was pretty nice too. "idk idk idk", "do ya?", "Evil" and "WICHITA BLUES" are pretty good but I don't really have much to say about them. "laced up" has some good energy The rest of the tape was pretty good too with "i like the way you kiss me" (i swear I've heard this one on TikTok at some point),and "Empathy" being highlights. Seriously, that beat is fire, man. I also like how "dancing while the world burns" ties into the tape's title. Overall, i really enjoyed this tape! Jank has always been pretty good at keeping a cohesive theme throughout his mixes, and this is no exception. I do think that I preferred the first half a bit more (tracks 1 - 4 are on fire), but I still think it's really d--- strong. Big thanks to @jankland for the tape and yeah FAVORITES: That! Feels Good, Secrets (Your Fire), Sexy Villain, Empathy Rating: 8/10 @AOTWClub @Justin Trudeau
