ended up doing a bunch of horror this week, so i figured it would be worth it to share some thoughts

TCM - Really good! I like how grimy it is, and everybody does a great job. Great set design as well (that face lamp is freakyyy man)

Hellraiser-, Really enjoyed it, but i was a bit surprised. Pinhead is such an iconic character, and so i was surprised to see how little the Cenobites are in this. It wasn’t a bad thing tho, and I found Frank Cotton to be a great villain. Also, those practical effects are insane

TCM 2 (Rewatch) - a good time once again, but i enjoyed it a bit less than the first time around. Humor is great though. Dennis Hopper and Bill Moseley are great, but Jim Siedow absolutely kills it as Drayton “S-C-E-X, Sex,”

REC- Great! i feel like the found footage aspect really helped make the infection feel helpless.

Halloween - Can’t believe it took me this long to check out the og. I think it’s great! I love how Myers is mostly just slowly stalking the characters before starting the killings. Ending was a bit more abrupt than i expected tho

REC 2 - I almost like this more than the original. I found the satanic possession aspect of the infection to be really cool, and i feel like the actors wete even better here (the Priest was a standout). I feel like the teenagers kinda slowed the movie down a bit tho, and the fact that their story isn’t even concluded in any meaningful way kinda brings my enjoyment down a bit. Might check out 3 and 4 someday

Child’s Play (Rewatch)- always loved this one. similar to Hellraiser, it is pretty cool to see how differently Chucky is handled in this one. The animatronics are great, and i wish that later movies kept the “doll slowly becoming human” aspect more.
