Jul 18, 2026 at 5:02 PM Pretty lame how Em casually tried to prop Relapse on that TDOSS gimmick interview to appease his fanbase, who find it a cult classic after trashing it for years on end. He should have just kept the cascade that he hates it, instead of backtracking at this point. All because he couldn’t handle the reception the album got at the time from critics and the fanbase. The album is a cult classic now, which is considered his best album since Emshow by many of his hardcore fanbase and now he is trying to play it off cool that “some people call that s--- a classic” Nice try, bozo - stick to making LTWYL part 23.
Jul 18, 2026 at 5:07 PM "Relapse was a bunch of jokey songs where I thought ok the joke is over" - proceeds to focus entirely on dad jokes
Jul 18, 2026 at 6:32 PM It's the music he wanted to make at the time. But I think it's more accurate to say it's all he could make at the time. In his heart of hearts I'm sure he really wanted to write songs like The Way I Am, Soldier... but the fire inside had long expired. More than just losing his ear for good music, he's even lost the clarity of mind to tell the fundamental difference between his best songs and degenerate, decadent dogshit like Evil Deeds @2:25:
Jul 18, 2026 at 6:43 PM Agreed. He attempted to do another Til I Collapse and ended up spunking out “Cinderella Man” one of the worst songs I’ve genuinely ever heard in my life. The hook, the beat, the delivery. Jesus. What an awful, awful song. The rawness and authenticity was long gone. Compare “Love The Way You Lie” to “Love You More” as another example.
Jul 18, 2026 at 6:44 PM I’ve heard several people throughout my life refer to Eminem as a “singer”. It lowkey bothers me… because he’s not a f---ing singer. Don’t even get me started on the term “rap singer”. He’s a rapper.
Jul 18, 2026 at 7:09 PM And he tried again with Survival, Kings Never Die, and most recently Higher. All uninspired crap. You could throw Won't Back Down in there too which he still performs live to this day, last time I checked. His taste in his own music reflects that of his normie fan base. That's why he will probably never be able to make good (real) music again. The latest album had interesting and impressive moments, but not one classic song like Love You More, Stimulate, Sing for the Moment...it's over. His decline is so depressing I rarely feel like listening to him period anymore.
Jul 18, 2026 at 7:10 PM Legit had this same thought the other week. Listened to Cinderella Man for the first time in years and it's absolutely horrendous. Not a single redeeming quality.
Jul 18, 2026 at 7:23 PM Even if it's far from perfect, after all the albums he made I think TDOSS was a very decent album for a 55 year old guy Truly did not expect that
Jul 18, 2026 at 8:15 PM I’m gonna try and list what I personally consider all the times post-clone Eminem has made “good” music. Anything not listed should genuinely be considered as average, to bad, to downright awful. The “Hello” intro and outro (but mostly because of the beat, great beat, very Eminem coded and would have fit perfectly on a genuine successor/sequel to MMLP) “Same Song and Dance” chorus only (another great beat) Deja Vu (whole song) My Darling (the part where Eminem and Shady merges together “you didn’t know fame had a price too” although unsure wether this is post or pre-clone) The “so much on my hands got to give my kids a fist bump” line from Buffalo Bill The intro music to “Music Box” the Cold Wind Blows intro The second and third verse of “Goin Through Changes” Parking Lot skit from MMLP2 The idea behind the second part of “Bad Guy” (could have been delivered and executed much better) The sentiment and feeling behind “Stronger Than I Was” (final product ultimately was too corny) the line “I write with the left, same hand I hold the mic with as I fight to the death” from Phenomenal the “This booths taken its toll” scheme on Believe the hint of melody that creeps in on Bad Husband third verse delivery “for all the times that we thought it worked” etc..(was a bad verse overall) the “you were the glue that binded, so many things time id give anything to rewind it, I have to walk down my halls and constantly be reminded” lines from Arose. (nice delivery, emotion comes across well, reminds me of difficult, just needs to be less shouty) the idea and execution (from a writers point of view, not necessarily musically) of Darkness the beat switch in You Gon Learn (not the vocals) the intro of Premonition The “joy and pain” lines toward the end Book of Rhymes along with the beat switch, ending with “you’re just boring lame” Renaissance (just about reaches the threshold) the “somebody needs to hit the reset button, back to 2003” lines from Antichrist up to “we can keep headbuttin” the “worse than diddy did cassie” lines from Antichrist the “Habits” bridge (shame it’s mixed so horribly) the “but with these buttons im always pushing, pain I’m always inflicting” lines from Habits up until he goes back to his normal voice (closest to 01-02 he’s ever sounded) parts of the Fuel verse (other parts are bad) the part of Guilty Conscience 2 where the voices merge together and the lines about “feeding pills and alcohol” (similar to the my darling part listed further up) First third of the Head Honcho verse very small parts of fuel remix and animals Im sure there’s 1 or 2 I’ve missed but that’s off the top of my head. I havent included what I regard as great instrumentals, because they’re not really created by Eminem so don’t count, such as Good Guy, Road Rage, Underground and some others
Jul 18, 2026 at 10:09 PM [cracks knuckles] Off the top of the monkey dome: - Parts of b---, both versions but esp the layered vocal part, and esp the way it's mixed in the released version - Both verses of You're Never Over plus both of the hooks, actually. Beat is awful though. Great energy and delivery throughout but esp: Tryna process this loss is makin' me nauseous But this depression ain't takin' me hostage, I've been patiently watchin' This game, pacin' these hallways, you had faith in me always Proof, you knew I'd come out of this slump, rise from these ashes Come right back on their a----s and go Mike Tyson on these b------s Whole 3rd verse of Believe, most esp: Give me that inkling and mo– –tivation to go, Hussein with the flow Fake fans that are two-faced didn't show Let heartbeats loop, produce hate in my soul Layin' vocals two days in a row True statement, hate to go down this road But there's only one route to cross this bridge So I walk in this b---- with loose change 'Cause all my dues paid, but this booth's takin' its toll That's it for now. Can't be bothered putting any more thought into this s-----y a------'s on-the-whole disgraceful excuse for a discog.
Jul 18, 2026 at 10:12 PM I meant both of the "post choruses". The main one/intro is as bad as everyone says.
Jul 19, 2026 at 2:51 AM Evil Deeds is a great song. Cinderella Man is a good song. Relapse and Recovery are both 10/10. Love The Way You Lie is not an imitation of Love You More, and Love You More is cringey, full of boring repetitive lines. LTWYL is better than Love You More. You two come with such a climax conclusion, like a punchline "then he did awful s--- like x" but then "x" is either good or not that bad to warrant such hate. I don't feel it. And what is this listing specific good parts? You can do that for everything. Nothing except Predator is 100% through and through consistently great from beginning to end. For example, singling out "give my kids a fist bump" but leaving out "Christopher Reeves swimming in my swim trunks" is just forced. Buffalo Bill is entirely "kids a fist bump" level. Whatever. And saying "Relapse is all Eminem could do" is basically saying "Masterpiece is all Eminem could do". Great point.
Jul 19, 2026 at 3:10 AM He dropped this when he was 51. He is currently 53. Need to wait a little longer for him to be 55, Myers.
