Jul 19, 2026 at 7:32 AM Eminems word play is out of this world on relapse. And not enough people bring that up
Jul 19, 2026 at 7:37 AM It's often mentioned, but it depends on what you mean by wordplay. If rhyming is wordplay, yes. But there are no double entendre or anything like that.
Jul 19, 2026 at 8:16 AM I “praised” Recovery when I was a child who’s entire musical knowledge up until that point had been Eminem, Tupac, Limp Bizkit, Linkin Park and (mostly) UK Grime. And my opinion didn’t overnight. It switched over the course of multiple years as I musically matured and started to see the light. I taught myself how to play guitar in 2010/2011 and that also helped me expand my musical catalogue. The more music I became exposed to, the more s-----y Eminems new music started sounding to me. I don’t really see Relapse and Recovery all that different. You can tell they were made months apart by the same guy. The flow on both is very similar. The main difference is him going from accent to screaming.
Jul 19, 2026 at 8:18 AM There is no world play on Relapse lol. World play is something he’s actually really great at now and has been for a while. There’s none on Relapse though. Im guessing you mean the way he manages to find certain ways to rhymes certain phrases, which isn’t really word play.
Jul 19, 2026 at 8:24 AM I think you’re right, it was WPG that made it. And Recovery did win in the poll lol. It deserves to be picked apart because of how bad of a fall off he had (and from the heights in which he fell from). You don’t get Radiohead fans constantly picking apart their music for instance, because they’ve been making good to great music consistently for 30 years.
Jul 19, 2026 at 8:48 AM Speaking of You’re Never Over btw, I’d pay very good money to hear even just one of the other four Proof tributes he recorded in between 06-08. I’d actually say it’s not far fetched to assume “On My Own” could have actually been a Proof tribute, especially if it features Elton. Eminem did say once during Relapse release that he had 5 Proof tributes and the last one he did he was kinda happy with it and was getting ready to mix down and release it until he changed his mind because it was depressing. I don’t think he was referring to Difficult. Difficult to me sounds like it was probably one of the first ones he recorded.
Jul 19, 2026 at 8:49 AM f--- no, my britta. Em could perform Recovery for ever, perfect album for stadiums. Can’t say the same for everything after.
Jul 19, 2026 at 9:22 AM You’ve never been to see Eminem live in a stadium lol. Big fan you are! Keep buying s-----y merch and pretend that’s being a fan. You also said you “miss him” a few weeks ago a grown man in his 30s saying he misses a celebrity that has no idea you exist, yet has never seen him live… Mentally unwell.
Jul 19, 2026 at 10:18 AM Yet he kept performing Recovery for over a decade and barely any songs from the other albums, so… Recovery >>>>>
Jul 19, 2026 at 10:20 AM Of couse I miss Em, bring back Marshall. A collab and an album announcement. It’s been two years, it’s time for a new album. otherwise, Iceman AOTY
Jul 19, 2026 at 10:30 AM So, so g-- - so needy. Acting like this because a musician that has no idea you exist has not released anything for 2 years lol. You’ll be legit angry if he doesn’t release anything for another year won’t you. It will emotionally affect you? Miss him even more or will you end your relationship with him?
Jul 19, 2026 at 10:45 AM lol says the guy that sucks his own d-ck. You are the so so g-- one. Even your cousin/wife knows you’re g--
