I do kinda hate myself for watching this first because every other will probably be less than it. But at the same time it's completely different and not to compare to it will be fine I gues.. g.d. still hate the ending though

In the new movie I mentioned before that's in the same universe there will be a scene where that is shown or mentioned. Hope it's just a cruel joke though Nikki deserves better! While we're in spoilerland: why is Bear mentioned everywhere as the 'protagonist' when he's clearly the bad guy here lmao. Sure, at first he didn't think it was true but that scene when real Nikki begged him to k--- her he was fully aware she was suffering because of him. What a f---ing creep. He got what he deserves. The scenes in the bedroom where she has these weird movements, the creepy smile (nice nod to Smile and Smile 2 btw), her wachting him sleep, the stares, the way she moved in the kitchen when he wanted to go to Ian were absolutely terrifying man. Actually gave me goosebumps. But the true horror was poor Nicki being stripped of her free will, watching something else control her body while being completely aware but no power to stop it. Watching her friends call her crazy, being trapped ughh. To the point she begged Bear to k--- her. Those scenes were hard to watch. That part reminded me of Get Out when u saw the original black people come back for a few seconds while being possessed by rich whites. Therefore I hope she somehow gets to have a normal-ish life and there's no mention or scene in that new movie that suggests otherwise. Let us believe she has!
Jul 24, 2026 at 6:40 PM Spoiler d--- that sucks, I didn’t hear about the director saying that. I’m probably just gonna pretend that doesn’t happen and go with my ending instead. I mean to be fair, it does make sense why she would be arrested for the murders though, I was thinking of that in the back of my mind. Obviously she didn’t k--- those people herself because she didn’t have autonomy over her body, but the cops would never believe her story. You’d be surprised how many people think Bear is actually the good guy in this scenario. It’s lowkey became quite the litmus test to see how people are in real life social situations. Because a lot of the people who think Bear is in the right happen to be some loser a--- men who either don’t get women or when they do get women they treat them horribly. I agree with you about the true horror of the film. When you think about it, Nikki is basically being repeatedly r---d by Bear throughout the movie. Not only that, but something took over her bodily autonomy and it sounds like her soul was basically trapped in some sort of h--- while she’s still experiencing everything that’s actually going on with her body and seems to be fighting to take back control at moments. Then you add the fact that basically her entire friend group is dead. And she would 100% end up feeling extreme guilt over that even though she didn’t actually do it. Honestly the whole movie could’ve been avoided if Bear wasn’t such a p----. It’s pretty clear to me that Bear didn’t need a stupid wish. To me at least, Nikki seemed to already like him or at least was willing to give him a chance if he actually grew the balls to tell her how he felt. But the thing is Bear never truly loved her, it was just a surface level crush. He never truly cared about her, which is why it was so easy for him to treat her the way he did. And now her life is ruined all because of some loser a--- man that looked at her as a prize to win rather than a human being. This movie should be a message to all men out there to have some balls and tell women how you really feel instead of hiding your feelings. I mean for f--- sake Nikki straight up gave him a giant chance to tell her how he really felt and instead lied saying they’re just friends. It doesn’t get much more p---- than that. He was basically handed the opportunity and still didn’t take it. The social ineptitude is off the charts. And the scariest part of all is there’s really men like this out there.

Jul 24, 2026 at 7:17 PM Spoiler Yeah they find her with 3 dead bodies with 2 she actually killed so it makes sense but since it wasn't shown it didn't happen and she's fine! Exactly, when they were having sex I literally thought she doesn't really want this... what the f---. Her suffering was the real horror -the scenes where the real one is present but also the struggling f----- up version trying to be what he wants her to be - but the creepy stuff 'possessed' Nikki did also got under my skin a lot. The car jumpscare was great but the more subtle things even more (bedroom, kitchen, cat sandwich lol) I do find it interesting how the obsession didn't start immediately. After that first weird night she went home after work. I wonder if that was the real Nikki or if the Obsession just didn't truly kick in yet. I am not sure if the real Nikki actually liked him though. I had the feeling because he was acting weird during that car ride she asked him directly if he liked her, since she felt something was up. Sarah was obviously jealous but I think the part about her seeing him as his brother was true. And I could kinda get at that moment in the car that he didn't say yes. Because if it wasn't mutual their whole friendship and his dream to be with her -he probably had for years- would be crushed forever. Also the silly wish, out of desperation thinking it's all fake anyways, I don't exactly blame him that much either. However the moment he noticed something was off (like that very first night) he should have tried to help her. She literally felt abused when he kissed her hence the backing down. Then the obsessed version took over again, but also being very confused. Actually both Nikki's I felt bad for lmao. The scene where she begged him to k--- her is when his true intentions were shown like you said: he didn't care truly about her, he was like 'f--- you if you don't wanna be with me you can suffer' Glad he died but kinda wished she got to do it lol Fun how there are many interpretations going around about the movie. The 'possession', theories about the wish thing being a demonic entity, witch etc. Lol This is why psychological horrors are the best imo.

They killed the cat so they could make her do that weird ritual in the kitchen and the catsandwich I think it was a supernatural force that overwrote her free will and forced her to act like an obsessed teenager. And the moments she acted 'normal' (as in, in love with Bear and laughing, living the live) her own soul wasn't able to resist or she went with it. The moments where her movements were 'off' and unnatural, I think that was some sort of cognitive dissonance where her real soul tried to take back control but the curse pushed her back forcefully making her cry and smile very weird. Like it was obvious it wasn't sincere. I started thinking this when we learned the real her was still inside trying to take back control. Also saw theories that it was the real Nikki that broke that wish stick to punish him. Makes no sense because this would mean (if he didn't already swallow the pills) she could never get rid of him lol. 100% sure that was the obsessed Nikki learning that this was the only way for them to be together.
Jul 25, 2026 at 3:46 AM Same here. But gonna add it to the october list #spooky season. Horror movies that rely on jump scares alone are fun to watch once but the second time you know whats coming. If the movie has nothing else to offer there's no reason to watch it again. Get Out, and Smile 2, I watch several times and that uneasy feeling is still there when I watch it again. It wears off a little but remains creepy lol. This will be the same for this one. Anual watch!
