Feb 26, 2018 i mean, there are very few rappers who either always write their raps or never write their raps. there's also a difference between jay's process and people who just freestyle. and the truth is most peoples' approaches are a combination of the two: most people write a lot, and then change things in the booth/try things that weren't written.

Feb 26, 2018 Kool AD's entire style is build around improvisational, stream of consciousness rapping. I don't think anybody else has taken it to where he's taken it.
Feb 26, 2018 Lil B isn't as concerned with, uh, the rapping part. Him and Kool definitely incubated in the same Bay Rap culture that led them to it though. Very similar styles with different emphasis.

Feb 26, 2018 Wayne pretty much writes. He has a thought, records it and waits for the next thought and records it...etc..I don't see anything special about his process. I'm not sure how Jay-Z does it, but I remember watching a Linkin Park Interview when they made the mash up tape and Mike Shinoda said that Jay pretty much did his verses in one take, but those lyrics have already been laid for his albums.
